The recruitment of candidates for the Winter Universiade-2019 volunteers started in May 2017. Anyone can fill in the questionnaire. Then, the candidates for volunteers apply for the Winter Universiade-2019, are tested online and schedule an appointment.

When will they check my profile? What should I do after changing its status?

Can I change my profile after its status has been changed to Reviewed?

You can correct the profile data at any time, but you should take into account that all the edited questionnaires are sent again for review.

What should my profile photo look like? What is it for?

The photo must meet the requirements listed below - it will be used for accreditation and making a badge.

The person should be in the frontal position, the eyes are open, the mouth is closed, the facial expression is neutral, the face should be completely in focus. The number of people in the photo is not more than one. There should be no images of the chair back, toys and other objects. The background should be monochrome. Recommended to 18% gray or light-blue tone. Do not use yellow, red, or other coloured lights. The face should be evenly lit. The face and eyes must be clearly visible and free of shadows. There should not be bright spots on the photo. The red-eye effect is invalid.

It is allowed to stay in the headgear that do not hide the oval of the person for citizens whose religious beliefs do not allow showing up before strangers without headgear (constant wearing of the headdress is an obligatory attribute of their national or religious affiliation), provided that the person is depicted in such headgear in the passport. For those who constantly wear glasses, it is possible to photograph in glasses without tinted glass. The glasses should be with clear and transparent glass so that the eyes are clearly visible. The frame of the glasses should not cover your eyes. Bandages on the eyes are allowed only for medical reasons, provided that the person is depicted with such a bandage on the photograph in the passport. Do not edit the colour image in order to improve the appearance.

Personal photo for accreditation 1) must be in colour; 2) must have the format .jpg, .jpeg; the maximum file size should not exceed 1Mb, the minimum horizontal image size is 420 pixels, the minimum vertical image size is 525 pixels; 3) the face image should occupy 70-80% of the entire photo.

Who can become a volunteer of the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019?

Any person regardless of sex, race and religious denomination can become a volunteer of the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019. There is only one restriction: by the time of the event a volunteer shall be 18 year old. This is the general rule for the most part of the international sport competitions. At the same time the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 is the sport competition of youths and students. That is why those candidates who by March 2019 will be at the age of 16 are allowed to be appointed to the certain positions (for instance, “city volunteers”). There is no upper age limits. Those candidates at the age of maturity who are older than 50 and 60 (so called “silver volunteers”) also can apply for being volunteers of the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019.

Team-leaders and supervisors. Who are they?

Totally 5000 volunteers will be involved in the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 organization and delivery. There is a need for managers of experience and capacity to observe and control such a great amount of young people. First and foremost, these managers are chosen from amongst of the volunteers. Volunteer management system provides for a choice and training of 50 team-leaders and 400 supervisors.

Team-leader is a manager for the whole team of volunteers working at the site (certain selected venue of facility) (for instance, the volunteers’ team-leader of the “Rassvet” Ice Palace). The team-leader can manage a group of 50-300 volunteers.

Supervisor is a volunteer coordinating the work of volunteers involved at the site (certain selected venue of facility) within the particular functional area (for instance, the volunteers’ supervisor of the “Rassvet” Ice Palace within the functional area “Spectators services”).

What are the volunteers’ functional responsibilities and duties?

Generally four groups of volunteers can be selected depending upon the functional area and training requirements.

“Volunteers of public profile” are the volunteers appointed to those positions where special professional skills are not required (hotels and accommodation units, information centres, opening and closing ceremonies, transport, logistics, etc.).

“Volunteer specialists” are the volunteers appointed to those positions where special professional skills and experience are required (medical, software support, television centres, volunteers working as interpreters’ and translators’, journalists’, emergency response groups’, guides’ assistants, etc.).

“Sports volunteers” are the volunteers who will actually assist the competition organization process. They need a good knowledge of sports, and certain groups shall have special athletic skills.

“City volunteers” are the volunteers who will create atmosphere of the hospitable and comfortable city and help the guests to familiarize themselves with Krasnoyarsk in the best way.

Will the volunteers attend the special training?

Involvement in such a great international event as the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 requires a high level of training. The special programme for training volunteers has been developed to provide the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 volunteers with general skills and experience concerning the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019, and special skills required for work in any particular functional area. Moreover, each volunteer will be given detailed instructions at the site (working area of the certain venue of facility).

Is it necessary to possess language skills?

Where will reside those volunteers coming from other cities?

Volunteers from other cities will live in a separate modern and comfortable residential facility at the student housing estate “Peria” located within the territory of Siberian Federal University. Housing estate “Peria” is a complex of three seventeen storey buildings located alongside the Village of the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019. Volunteers from other cities will live in triple rooms with bathrooms, furniture and all the required equipment. Shops, beauty salons, leisure centres, engineering and service rooms are in a short distance from the housing estate.

How the volunteers will get to their working areas?

Volunteers residing in the housing estate “Peria” will be transferred to the working areas and back by means of special buses (shuttles). Other volunteers will obtain transport cards for free transportation by means of public municipal transport.

Will the volunteers be provided with feeding?

Yes, the feeding will be provided. Volunteers residing in the housing estate “Peria” will take hot meals twice a day at the place of residence and once a day at the site (lunch boxes). Other volunteers will take hot meals during the working shifts (lunch boxes).

Will the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 sponsors pay for travel of the volunteers coming from other cities to Krasnoyarsk and back?

No, these expenses shall be covered by the institution sending the volunteer or by the volunteer himself. Such a practice is approved for all the international competition of a large scale. Independent arrival to the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 is one of the possible ways to contribute your strength and capabilities to the sport event.

How will the volunteers’ security be ensured during the event?

Security of all the participants of the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019, including volunteers will be ensured in compliance with the requirements of FISU. Special services securing the order, emergency medical teams and subdivision of EMERCOM will work at the venues and facilities round-the-clock. Strength of the social security system in Krasnoyarsk will be enhanced.

What issues will be particularly considered during the interview?

How is the rating of candidates for volunteers formed? How are points calculated?

The rating of candidates for volunteers is formed on the results of online-testing and interview.

The final score is calculated by the following formula:

- the number of points scored for the English test multiplied by 0.5,
- the number of points scored for the Universiade knowledge test multiplied by 0.2,
- the number of points scored for the test for general competencies multiplied by 0.3.

As a result of the interview, candidates get additional points (maximum - 5 points).

I can't appoint a Skype-interview, what shall I do?

First of all, make sure that your profile has got "Checked" status. Also, you must apply for participation in the Winter Universiade-2019 (the "Activities and Applications" tab) and successfully pass the entrance testing ("Training Courses").

Due to the large number of candidates, the schedule for the online interview is already full. Additional time will appear in early June. The remaining candidates will be able to register for an interview in September.
